FILM/ART

I love movies, and I got to be in one! I played the lead character (known only as “She”) in Julia Loktev’s 2006 award-winning feature film Day Night Day Night. I was a Gotham Independent Film Award nominee (Breakthrough Actor) as well as an EDA Female Focus Award nominee (Best Newcomer). Day Night Day Night was an Official Selection at the Telluride Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival, among others; Winner Prix Regards Jeune, Cannes Film Festival; Best Feature Narrative, Woodstock Film Festival; ).

From The New York Times review by Stephen Holden: “To study the unsettled emotional weather on the face of Luisa Williams, the intense, dark-eyed star of ‘Day Night Day Night,’ is to be reminded of Norma Desmond’s famous boast, ‘We had faces then.'” [Read more here.]

I starred as Anna in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s 2007 (very) short film Anna (part of Chacun son Cinéma, a collection of 33 shorts by various directors created to celebrate the anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival).

I also love to write about movies and talk about ’em! Here’s a couple of stories I’ve written: The Most Terrifying Women in Horror Film: A Ranking of Iconic Female Villains (Horror Tree) and I am Norman (Cemetery Dance Publications). Here I am on the Scare U podcast talking about Dead Silence. And I also talked about books, film, and horror in an interview with The Metropolitan, you can read it here.
